Joe Daugirdas, also known as “The Coupon Guy”, has been honing his shopping skills in the Northeast Ohio area for many years. He has built his saving ways to the point where he typically saves 70% to 80% when shopping for groceries. He has also received money back from some stores including one trip to Giant Eagle supermarket that netted him $7.02 along with $41.35 worth of groceries. Savings of 90% to 100% are also not uncommon. As an example, a shopping trip to Tops Supermarkets cost him $49.81 for $444.10 worth of groceries, an 89% savings. Much of what he purchases is then donated to charitable organizations such as the Cleveland Food Bank. Using
his shopping skills, Joe began teaching the “Savvy Shopper” class at
Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio, along with “Choosing Cell
Phones”, a class designed to help people find the best cell phone deals. |

He has been very active with Junior Achievement in schools across the Cleveland area, teaching pre-teens and teens the value of fiscal responsibility as they enter adulthood. Joe has taught his savings class to many organizations, including the Eastlake Women’s Club, where he helped them win the “Most Entertaining” award for Women’s Clubs of Ohio in 2005. Joe has also taught at many libraries throughout the Greater Cleveland area featuring full houses at many local libraries including Twinsburg, Chardon, and Elyria. Joe is a full-time employee at Applied Industrial Technologies, where he works as an Assistant Manager dealing mostly with Information Technology and output document management in the Central Services Department. He was an Auxiliary Policeman for Willowick for 17 years. Joe lives in Willoughby Hills, Ohio, with his wife, Claudine, and their two cats, Dummy and Dummy.
