BRUNSWICK SUN TIMES
There was a person taking pics of me at my Brunswick Library class. After the class she came up to me and I questioned her if she was a reporter or if she thought I was real hot. She was a reporter. I got plastered on the front page of the Brunswick Sun Times on 4/9.

K-MART
I complained to K-Mart about their doubling the other month because coupons where you had to buy more than one item didn't double correctly. They sent the complaint to their headquarters and it looks like it did some good. Always worth complaining when something needs to be fixed. The last time they doubled coupons I noticed they semi-fixed the problem with the way they doubled coupons that were for two items. For instance, the coupon is for .60 cents off of two items. The item is on sale for $1.00. The regular price is $1.19. In the past it would double only to the sale price - that being $1. It now doubles to the regular price as long as it isn't over the price of the doubled coupon, so it doubles to $1.19 off total. Progress, but still flawed.

DEMOGRAPHICS
Demographics make up a way a retailer pursues customers. For instance, if a company were targeting their product to sell to girls ten to fourteen years old they would emblazon their products with unicorns. If they were targeting 60 to 64 year old men then Wilford Brimley would be their spokesman. If they were targeting me then they would have Wilford Brimley riding a unicorn and trampling over Yankees players during a Cleveland Indians game.

NEWSPAPERS
The Sun Times, parent of dozens of Sun newspapers, has filed chapter 11 bankruptcy. As has the parent of the News-Herald. Many newspapers are having financial trouble. Some are going on-line only. Some are only printing weekend papers. Support your local paper and get a subscription. They always offer deals for subscriptions so ask about them before you subscribe. They always offer specials. I couldn't imagine not getting my morning paper. I need it to read while I'm on the pot and I think it helps me to stay regular.
COUPONS.COM
Get internet coupons on this site. Many grocery stores don't take them or they do and then they don't and do again... It costs maybe 25 cents to print a page of coupons, so only print what you will use. If you print 4 pages then it's the same cost of a Sunday paper that you can get on Mondays at Giant Eagle, CVS, Speedway and many other stores. Heinen's recently said they were accepting them again. Stay tuned.

CONSUMER REPORTS
This months magazine has a section on where to get the best supermarket deal. The analysis is slanted. It showed Warehouse clubs being cheaper along with generic purchases than a person that was a savvy shopper. Problem was they extrapolated pricing for the Warehouse clubs to count as one item when items were purchased in bulk. Not apples an apples comparison. And the savvy shopper was lame. He bought Philadelphia Cream cheese for $2.50. It can be found on sale for $1 frequently and that is without a coupon.
GOING OUT OF BUSINESS
K-Mart - Madison - percentage off around 20 to 40% for most of the items - still not that great of a deal. Some items are 75% off.
Sears - Randall Park Mall - percentage off around 20 to 40% for most of the items - still not that great of a deal. Some items are 75% off.
