PRODUCE
People usually ask me how I find deals on produce. I go to Marc’s and Aldi’s for my produce. They have great deals there on produce and the quality is good. Most other grocery stores or super centers have very few produce items on sale. That is where they make their profit since they know most people don’t want to go to other stores to get their produce even if the price is much better elsewhere. It’s a matter of convenience and not about savings for some people. But I want to give my business to those that offer me the best price for what I’m buying.

A LITTLE STORY
I decided that it was about high time that I started a little business. Something that will earn me a few bucks on the side. I wanted to use my business acumen and savings talent to earn a tidy profit. So this past weekend I set up a lemonade stand at the end of the driveway. There surely will be a load of thirsty people that will line up to get a taste of my homemade lemonade.
I’d make the lemonade from scratch using some Countrytime powdered mix that I got for free. I’d have my cats cry into the batch because cat’s tears are sour. Or at least I figured they would be. That would be my secret ingredient. Cat’s tears.
I was thinking I needed one more ingredient. Lizard blood. No, that’s kinda gross but it might make a good brownie even better. So I settled on using a stick I found in the backyard to mix the drink. It would add some depth to the flavor and anything that flaked off would add some protein. So I can label the lemonade as heart healthy. Perhaps GNC or some other health store might want to sell it. I’d call it Sticky Tears Lemon Drink. I can’t call it juice because it’s mostly made of chemicals.
It was 20 degrees outside. I realized early on that I didn’t need ice. Traffic was slow. But I know once word got out, the street would be lined up with customers. After no customers stopped by I also realized that I should sell the stuff during the day and not at night. It’s an afternoon drink. But I did have some raccoons that came by but were a little shy about ordering anything. They didn’t look like they could afford the cash though. And I wasn’t about to try to shake down a few raccoons. Tomorrow is a new day and I have some Chef Boyardee that I think will sell like hotcakes.
