BENNIGANS/STEAK AND ALE
Both are bankrupt now, so gift cards to those restaurants are worth nothing. There are some non-franchise stores out there that are still operating, but I haven't heard that they are taking the gift card. However, bring in your gift card from Bennigans and the Texas Roadhouse will give you a free entree. Doesn't matter if the gift card has $0 or $100 on it. And even though Ponderosa and other restaurants are on the gift card, Ponderosa isn't taking any with a picture of a steak on them since they are the ones given out by Metrogroup, the company that went bankrupt.
Was told that the employees of Bennigans didn't get paid their last check they were due. They were even calling Ponderosa to see what they could do which of course, was nothing.
** Here's a stat to remember - 70% of new restaurants fail within 5 years of opening. So avoid buying gift certificates or cards for restaurants. Use them quickly if you do have them. You may just end up trading a Chi-chi's and Mountain Jack's gift card for a some toast and a toothpick to a gift card collector.
CLASS SCHEDULE
I'm all over the place this fall. Be sure to register for the class, if the library is registering attendees. People are getting shut out of my class because registration is stopped when they've reached their limit. The other week Amherst had a record crowd and Green reached their registration limit. They usually have free cookies and drinks. So skip dinner and dine at Chez Librarie.
